Our client is a leading hospitality and timeshare holiday company that operates close to 50 resorts across India. The company, which has been using Salesforce for many years, has been undergoing an extensive business transformation program. Over time their Salesforce instance was customised to handle a lot of functionality beyond sales and service, making their Salesforce org overly complicated with a lot of legacy code. Also, it was pretty much hitting all the governor limits imposed by Salesforce. Lister became a vendor for the client about four years ago, and we have become their primary vendor since then.
The client was under pressure to migrate to Lightning to improve user experience, enabling them to benefit from the features and releases made on Salesforce Lightning. There was a tight timeline to complete this because the client had several new projects to be implemented, which they were keen to build using Lightning instead of Classic.
The Lister team first did a complete analysis of their Salesforce instance. We then built a plan to roll out Lightning to users in a phased manner and across different departments in the company.
The scope of Lightning migration comprised of the following:
- 250 Visualforce pages
- 3.6 million attachments across different objects
- Over 10,000 Notes & Documents
Lightning was rolled out to different sets of users in a phased manner over 16 weeks.
- The whole project completed within the planned time frame and budget
- User experience was enhanced significantly
- It enabled the building of future projects using LWC and Lightning features.
